I was confused for a while regarding the spelling of Jewelery, Jewellery or Jewelry. It turns out that it's merely personal choice, in British English it is Jewelery or Jewellery, while in U.S. English it is Jewelry. Somehow my workplace prefers the U.S. spelling.
The word Jewellery comes from Jewel, which was anglicized from the Old French Jouel, and the Latin word Jocale, meaning plaything.
